Like 2001? I really liked that.
I'm hoping to see Interstellar myself.

Learning when to ask for help has been pretty hard for me. I've actually found myself in the same scenario as Applejack from "The Last Roundup". I thought I had to do something all by myself, and cut myself off from all contact while I was trying to do it. My family had to track me down to talk some sense into me.
The lesson is, when things have gone wrong, cutting off communication with friends/family is NEVER a good idea.
In other, more pleasant news. It's great weather for jogging today. Naturally, that jog was the only time I've stepped outside all day.

I forced myself to write Rarity without letting her say "darling" or "dear" at all, I think.

I'd hate to see you leave, Syd, especially over this.

Michigan by Sufjan Stevens. Oddly, this was released in the summer of 2003, but it sounds so much like winter music. (Maybe it's just my memory association coloring the music—I got this album in December one year, and listened to it extensively in the months that followed. And I was at college in Indiana at the time.) These days, it's overshadowed by the followup album, Illinois, which is a pity because I think this one is better. It's definitely more consistent.

Syd, do you have a paypal account? If you do, I could send something your way.

I haven't played enough zombie games to be really familiar with that kind of hamhanded moral. Well, it’s not just in the zombie games. It's zombie EVERYTHING. As best I can tell, "Humans are the REAL monsters!" was the message of the original Night of the Living Dead. Yet for every zombie movie or show in the last ten years inspired commentary to the effect of "The other humans are so much more dangerous than the zombies!" as if this were the slightest bit original.

I started a TV Tropes article for David Byrne. I've been re-listening to all his albums that I own to find more tropes in the lyrics.

Me, too, to be honest.
"Okay. Somehow other humans are worse than the ravenous, mindless hordes of the undead. I get it already! Can we as a society please move on?"

I remember when Two Best Friends Play... covered that game. Matt and Pat said that they normally hate child characters in videogames, especially the ones the player is supposed to protect. (For that matter, they detested Duck in this game and had absolutely no sympathy when Duck got bit.) Yet Clementine was so well-written that they wound up becoming genuinely protective of her, in spite of their prior attitude.

Russian Lullabies by Havalina Rail Co. Way back when I first got this album, I was unhappy with the track order, so I rearranged the songs and listened to them in my new order from then on. I'm listening to the original, proper song order now, for the first time in years.

Remember: "If you don't have your health, you don't have anything."
My squad has a meeting with the company commander in 30 min. To talk about the research we're planning. I'm gonna be presenting a few slides.

She left without anything getting violent, so I'd say you handled it fine. I don't see how anything was your fault: she's the one who came into your house uninvited.
