They must be watching us...yay! Also, in your opinions, what are the five best things we can take away from the opener?

Five things? Well. . . 1. There is apparently a lot more emotionally hurting/vulnerable ponies in Equestria then we thought. 2. Such emotional turmoil is still easily resolved by the end of an episode. 3. Cutie Marks are apparently both not and more rock solid then we thought. 4. The Map seems nigh-omniscient if it can know such a things as demonstrated in the episode. 5. Fluttershy has some warpped views of herself and others.

Yes, a song! Sweet!
And my own 5 are:
- Equestria is further proven to be not quite the sugar bowl(edited) it would appear to be.
- we have a great season arc set up.
- new methodology set up (meadowlark)
- we finally got a normal pony as a serious villain. - pinkie got fat.

You were still thinking about Starlight's plot.

Maybe. Or maybe it was Pinkie bouncing down those stairs.

Say, which 'original sin' would you say Starlight Glimmer veers towards? I think it's Envy myself...a sort of hatred of others being better than her, and so rather than being happy with what she has she decides to just steal everyone's talents to drag them down to her level. I know many people have said about the communist and cult connections with Starlight's group, but there's also a much more mundane level to it too...school cliques. That somehow everyone needs to have the same skills and interests to get along. Peer pressure. I don't know I'm just thinking out loud.

Envy is probably the closest, yeah.

That really does make sense. Trixie was all about inflating herself, whereas Starlight is more about deflating everyone else.
