@ Mezzaphor Thank you for sharing that. I haven't heard them before but I'm glad I have now because it's definitely my kind of music.

For St. Patrick's Day, listening to Afro Celt Sound System and The Chieftains. Gonna finish off with Flogging Molly.

@kyler: A bit ago, you posted a song from the Ratatouille soundtrack. Just recently, I got another album that reminds me of that: Richard Galliano's Nino Rota. It's a five-piece jazz group (accordion, trumpet, sax, bass, drums) covering selections from Nino Rota's film scores.

Well I'm not listening to any new music, but my new ipod came in today, so I'll be able to listen to more of my existing stuff. Although I do think I have a Genesis album lying around somewhere I was meaning to listen to.

What iPod did you get JT?

The 128 gig ipod touch. It's like $400, but it's the only one that will hold my collection. Well, I could've gone with a 64gig but I wouldn't be able to add much more to it.
In other news, I listen to a big chunk of Genesis' Foxtrot. It's pretty good, though it's one of those albums that requires multiple listens to absorb.

Cool! I hear that this is the reason why the Classic Ipod is sought after, because it's got so much space.
And Genesis have been around longer than I realized.

And they've been around forever.

I like Peter Gabriel. Especially his music videos. And are you a fan of Apple stuff JT? I am but I get a lot of grief from others for it. They use Androids you see.

I have an iphone and ipod, but that's it. For my actual computer I prefer something that's actually compatible with more things. ;p
And also is a bit cheaper.

Very true. Apple Music is great though. I just started mine. Now I can listen to anything at any time.

I listened to a ton of stuff today. Dream Theater's A Dramatic Turn of Events, Genesis' Foxtrot, and Iron Maiden's Book of Souls double album. Got few songs into Mastodon's Crack the Skye, too.
Here's the epic last track from Foxtrot:

Kevin Max sorta-kinda has a new album out. (Crowdfunding and digital distribution have conspired to create a fuzzy situation where the album is released but not really.)
In the past, I felt that Kevin didn't have much musical identity of his own, aside from his voice. He just made music that sounded like whoever he was collaborating with at the time. So if he made an album with Adrian Belew or Andy Prickett, it rocked—but if he made an album with a who's-who of CCM hitmakers, then it sounded like everything I dislike about the radio.
Well, he proved me wrong on this new album. For the first time, Kevin wrote all of the songs completely by himself. And I guess his musical identity is that he really really loves the '80s.
Here's the music video for "The Girl with the Tiger Eyes". Kevin said it was his attempt to make the classic Duran Duran sound—which he thought was lacking on their actual most recent album.
