I want to catch up on it, but at the moment I've only seen like one episode.

Yeah, right now I am. I'm a fast reader, so it's easier to find the time. I'll probably watch the show eventually, though.

It'll be interesting to see your thoughts on how the two compare.

Yeah, that might be a while though. I have a ridiculous backlog of stuff to watch. I'm going through Avatar the Last Airbender and Red Dwarf right now.

Red Dwarf is sweet.
The latest GoT episode was brilliant by the way but, I can't share the details because spoilers...

Let me guess: Someone died.
Anyway, I finished the first book and am about 50 pages into the second. It's still good so far, though it's a bit less focused than the first book was. The first one was pretty clearly centered on Ned, with a few subplots following other characters. In this one there's no real A-plot, and everything is B-plots. Not that that's bad; it's still really interesting. But right now things are still a bit disconnected.

And meanwhile, season four has ended. And it was brilliant!

It's still a good book, though.

I bet. I'd still consider reading it, despite knowing the story.
Speaking of the show, the plot is thickening.

When isn't the plot thickening?

Yeah, so I started watching some episodes, finally. Just got up to the point where Ned gets arrested for treason. I can't really comment on the shocking stuff, as I'm reading the books and knew what would happen, but it's interesting to see how and when the show diverges from the book. It obviously chops out a lot of the exposition that the book has in the narration, and the POV aspects of it aren't as distinct. It's also interesting to see how things are visualized, when in the book they're left more vague.
