In a way, I kind of envy people that are able to take anything at face value on the first of April. Pranks (at least of the internet variety) tend to lose their kick when you're expecting them to happen.

After that we went to an Escape Room, which was cool. Managed to beat it in 35 minutes, though we probably could've done it in under half an hour if we hadn't been idiots about the the last puzzle.
You didn't break into song before opening the last door, did you?

I'm questioning my decision to run a one-shot session for Shadowrun, an RPG I've never played before. I've been spending the last couple days reading up on various bits and pieces of the game rules on top of writing out notes and script for the little adventure I have planned. But if it turns out well, I'll have introduced some more variety to the local tabletop scene than just D&D all over the place.

I don't think age is an issue, but money and time definitely are. If what I hear is true, the time commitment is on the level of "say goodbye to your hobbies and social life".
What kind of history did you focus on, by the way?

Does that mean you could literally pay an arm and a leg for something?

I was hoping to do something more along the lines of a crafting project. Like maybe a tabletop trebuchet, or a dice tower of some sort.

They're more or less the size of barbecue sticks, but they're not sharpened at the end.
I know nothing on the subject of credit ratings, so all I can do is wish you good luck.

I have acquired a pack of 100 wooden sticks that I thought I would need for a project. Never ended up using them. Now I need to figure out what to do with all of these things so they don't go to waste.

Really high pay, little hours and outdoor work? For some reason, I read this in the voice of TF2's Sniper. But yeah, that does sound like a pretty decent job. Good luck!

Grey Jedi. Or whatever they want to use as a faction that taps into the dark side without becoming evil megalomaniac wizard overlords.

... Well, if it was soap, it probably wasn't meant to be eaten, which might explain why it was so bad. Then again, the fact that it's chicken flavored/scented means it probably wouldn't make good soap either. I've used soap made out of oatmeal before. (I don't buy the soap around here, FYI.) I'm not really surprised by weird-ingredient soaps anymore.

@apple: Basically, I have a spell I can use each turn called Vicious Mockery. If the target fails a Wisdom saving roll, it takes 1d4 psychic damage and takes a penalty on its next attack. Someone else got the last hit on it, but I built my character as debuff/support anyway, so it's fine.

If I had to guess, it's more necessary to alter and rebalance things in 40K more often given that it's a competitive game. As opposed to something like D&D where you make up a story as you go, and the DM can secretly skew things for or against the players for dramatic tension anyway.
Also, I very nearly caused a monster to die of shame. The old adage about sticks and stones don't apply when your words are literally magic.

Friend of mine ran a one-shot D&D 5e session. Bards are an interesting class to play as.

Is there a difference between how those two games are played? I kinda thought they were basically the same game in different settings.
