I'm very annoyed that stream commercials made me miss what the hell the "shadow" was all about.
It was nice though.

That's why I don't bother with streams anymore. Far too unreliable.

I freaking loved the episode.
That cranky old pest-control pony is totally who I'm going to be in thirty years or so.
Also, Ashleigh Ball makes up for her bad Rainbow Dash singing with a very nice (if short) song as Applejack.

That was pretty good. Definitely one of the best CMC episodes. I really liked how thoroughly it examined AB's anxieties about the whole CM thing. My only criticism is that the resolution felt a bit too easy, but that's really par for the course at this point.

My only criticism is that the resolution felt a bit too easy, but that's really par for the course at this point. I think that's a result of the conflict being entirely internal this time. In the prior dream-walking CMC episodes, there was an external action that had to be taken after the filly had her epiphany. Scootaloo needed to admit she was scared and ask Dash to be her surrogate sister. Sweetie Belle had to fix the headpiece she wrecked and reconcile with Rarity. But Apple Bloom didn't have anything like that, unless you count Babs Seed's letter (and the decision at the end to send Babs a care package) which barely got any screen time. This time, the epiphany was the conflict resolution, all by itself.

I meant more the fact that Luna showed up more or less out of nowhere, but I see what you mean.

Live watch time! - So Babs got her CM? That's quite a development! - Don't be a jerk Scoots! - Aww, that lullaby is cute. - ...no way...wait, what is that? Gas? Apple gas? - Darth Vader! - ...Twittermites? (also, nice call back to Swarm Of The Century) - So that's how non unicorns hold 'guns'. - Oh, it's them two. - Oh dear, Starlight's back... - The barn's destroyed...for like, the third time. - I never noticed this before but is that Carrot Top's house? - Pinkie teach you that recipe AJ? - Twilight teaches her Potions? - I hope they get their CMs together too, just the Mane Six (sorta) did. - Wait...what's goin' on here? - This is a dream...because Big Mac spoke! - Ditzy Dolphin CM? - Chicken Balloon Pinkie's outside! - It's Luna! And that's that! Not a bad episode. Not amazing but good none the less. And there's some interesting ideas there too. They need to realize that a CM you don't recognize or like is a complete oxymoron. I wonder if Twittermites are real?

I meant more the fact that Luna showed up more or less out of nowhere, but I see what you mean. Yeah, you're right. In "Sleepless in Ponyville", Luna briefly appeared in the first dream to foreshadow her big scene in the second dream. And in "For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils", the dream sequence didn't really take that long. But here, the dream takes up the majority of the episode, and Luna doesn't show up at all until the very end. On the other hand, I'm not sure how they could have had Luna show up earlier without throwing everything off. Either Luna's right there and the audience wonders why she doesn't intervene, or she does intervene sooner and Apple Bloom looks like a dumbass for not learning her lesson sooner. - Twilight teaches her Potions? I think that's a callback to "Twilight Time".

Her CM gets a "Huh? Wha?" from me. "Apple Gas" is the cousin the Apples don't talk about. Eh? More like the thirtieth time. Better start building 'em out of adamantium. Things I learned from the new episode: Dream Mac won't shut up. Chicken Balloon Pinkie is everywhere. Apple Bloom: It's you! Luna: How are you gentlemare. Luna: All your dream are belong to us. Apple Bloom: What you say.

The Shadow Pony from the dreams offered to make Apple Bloom's problems go away by taking her Cutie Mark. Eerily similar to Starlight Glimmer's M.O., but without the equal signs. A lot of people watching the episode wondered if Starlight had somehow learned to screw around with other ponies' dreams.

Thanks, Meta. That heavily-processed voice was difficult to understand.
