Is it normal to already have had two sets of penalty kicks at this stage of the tournament?
These games have been really close this round so far. If that continues tomorrow I'll be really surprised.

So France beats Nigeria 2-0. Not unexpected, but I thought Nigeria had a good chance, especially at the first half. Oh well, coming up next the last African team in the tournament go up aganist Germany. If there is going to be another upset in this tournament, this would be the one, however unlikely it is.

Yes. Germany is by far the favorite.

I'm afraid so. But like I said, no shame in losing to Germany.

This really is becoming the tournament of extra time. Germany and Algeria still tied at 0-0 (though certainly not for lack of effort). Make that make that 1-0 for Germany in extra time.
Frankly, even if Germany does eventually win, it'll still feel like a victory for Algeria for how well they played.

God I was so tired last night I couldn't stay up past the extra time. And I wake up to see the result was what I expected it to be.
Tonight it's the USA v Belgium. Best of luck to you yankees.

Argentina v Switzerland at the moment. Not much so far.

It seems like a lot of these games are being played while people in the US are at work, so they have little chance of watching them live. They have to get updates when the boss isn't looking.

Well, here we go again. Another score less game (again, not for lack of effort) going in to extra time.
We'll see if this goes down to penalty kicks too.

This is the first game this World Cup I've really been unimpressed with.

This seems to continue the theme of top-tier, favorite teams giving lackluster performances, but still managing to pull out a win.
Argentina beat Switzerland 1-0 in a set of extra time that was some of the sloppiest football I've seen this tournament.

Sloppy is definitely the word. I hope the Belguim/US match is better.

And yet another scoreless match going into extra time. Urrrgh.
