Quite a bit went on at E3, particularly on Nintendo's side between Smash Bros., Splatoon, new Zelda, Bayonetta, etc.

Also, what is the FFV Four Job Fiesta?

I haven't heard anything about that either.

No? I guess I won't make a thread then. Anyway, FF5 Four Job Fiesta is a charity drive that happens every summer. People play FF5 with an imposed challenge; beat the game with only four jobs. There are several variations on how you acquire your jobs, but the default is this: after every elemental crystal, you will get one job from that crystal. I've done this every year since 2011. I've had so much fun trying to utilize my limitations.

That does sound like fun, but I haven't played FF5 in forever, and I don't know where I'd find the time to do that.

News that might interest some folks here, since I'm pretty sure there are a few avatar fans: Legend of Korra is getting a video game, made by Platinum Games - the creators of Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. I haven't played either personally, but as I hear it they're both good, wild action games, so it should be a good fit. There's a brief article on it here: ca.ign.com/articles/2014/06/25/platinum-games-the-legend-of-korra-coming-in-2014

I would probably be more excited about that if I'd watched Legend of Korra. I'm still trying to finish up the original series.

I can't help but be skeptical since it's a licensed downloadable game.

Well I'm cautiously optimistic about the Korra game. Visually, it's looks impressive.

It's so strange, but I'm been slowly going off video games (console games that is) over the last year or so and I can't really figure out why. Maybe it's because it's been so long since I played them at length I've just been...purged...of interest. I'm not sure how to feel about this to be honest.

The last console video game I played was Pitfall II for the Atari 5200. For some reason, I didn't actually get into the game until long after I bought it. The 5200 game is the only version with more than one level. I couldn't figure out how to get to the last treasure, a diamond ring. Unlike the other treasures, there's no ladder to get to the platform with the ring. Figuring "What the hell," I finally had Pitfall Harry jump off of a platform to certain death in a river below a steep canyon/chasm. No, he floated down...down...down...left...left...left...and landed safely on a platform on the other side of the screen. Continuing left, "Hey, there's the diamond ring!" Picked up the ring. Commencing Level 2. I still have the instructions I wrote down: "To get to the ring, go take a flying leap."

So has anybody here played Recettear? It's a really fun game. Basically, you get to be the item shop person who price gouges everyone.
