So I finally saw Batman V Superman. The Ultimate Edition, which apparently fixes a bunch of plot holes from the theatrical cut. I came into it with very low expectations and was... pleasantly surprised. I guess the big complaints from everyone else were the dark tone, which I didn't mind, and the way some of these characters, particularly Lex Luthor, were so wildly different from their comic counterparts—and I barely read the comics, so faithfulness to the source material is a non-issue for me. Even the whole "Martha" coincidence made a lot more sense in actual context than other people led me to believe.
And you know what? I really like that Martha Wayne got so much focus. In other movies and things, it comes across like Bruce is so busy mourning his dead father that he doesn't even remember his dead mother. So it's really nice to see her get some appreciation for a change.
My main complaint is how much of the plot depends on characters failing to talk/listen to each other. Although Superman does it so much, and he's so independent and taciturn, it wraps back around to feeling like an intentional character flaw rather than a plot device.
I'll be watching Suicide Squad this weekend. I haven't exactly been blown away by the DC Extended Universe yet, but I'll be supporting them if for no other reason than because someone needs to be competition for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so the MCU will stop coasting.

I still haven't got around to watching any of the DCEU yet other than Man Of Steel. I'll probably get around to watching the other stuff eventually, but more out of curiosity than anything.

So, I saw Suicide Squad. It's stylish dumb fun. It's Hot Topic: The Movie, for good and for ill.
The DCEU is some kind of bizarro take on the DC universe. It deviates wildly from the comics, and stuff doesn't fit together the way you're expecting, but it still has its own internal logic.

I haven't seen batman v superman. How badly will that affect me watching Suicide Squad?

The biggest thing is Suicide Squad spoils the ending of Batman v Superman. So that's only an issue if you care about being unspoiled for that. I don't think there's anything in Suicide Squad that depends on prior knowledge.
