Yes, good idea Mezza, thank you. The title for episode VIII is...I don't know what to make of it.

Okay, upon further thought: As a title, it's great.
As a harbinger for what's in the film, I'm somewhat apprehensive. It could mean that Luke is going to die, and the Jedi order with him. If the movie goes that way, I probably won't like it, because it would undermine the happy ending of Return of the Jedi, more so than The Force Awakens already did. But the director might be planning something different.
Considering that Luke has been studying the original Jedi temple, and considering how the new post-Disney-buyout canon has been emphasizing Force religions outside the Jedi and the Sith (Lor San Tekka in TFA was in The Church Of The Force, Chirrut and Baze from Rogue One were Guardians Of The Whills, and one of the TV shows brought back the Nightsisters from the old EU)... It's possible that Luke will draw from Light Side traditions besides the Jedi when he trains Rey and any other apprentices he takes on. In that way, Luke can succeed in restoring an order of Light Side users—perhaps even improve upon the Jedi, who were awfully out-of-touch by the time of the prequels—and still be "The Last Jedi". If that's the direction this is going, I'll be very happy.

Yeah, that would definitely be the optimal course of action. I definitely agree that killing him off would be a really risky move, unless they have him come back as a force ghost in the next installment. If only because if he did bite it, it would be a huge waste of Mark Hamill's talents.

I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of the Jedi Order. Having him adopt a new ideology would be interesting, I think.
Because yeah, the Jedi didn't (and shouldn't) have a monopoly on the light side of the Force.

About time. So we know we're getting Rey training, and Luke at least seriously contemplating just ending the order there (which makes sense as nearly everything involving it fell apart horribly).

I heard rumors that he plans to build a new order that will achieve balance.
Either way, this teasers got me excited.

Is this the old "exterminate the Dark Side" balance, or an actual "the Dark Side is not evil, you must have both" balance?

Is this the old "exterminate the Dark Side" balance, or an actual "the Dark Side is not evil, you must have both" balance? The later, apparently. I think Luke has come to realize that the Jedi philosophy is too flawed to survive, and you have to embrace your inner darkness instead of just suppressing it.

It's hard to say given how little information we have. Right now I'm guessing it's going to go with a "dark is not evil" route, and if you try to completely repress darker feelings like the Jedi did it becomes evil. But yeah, it's extrapolating a lot from a little.

Pablo Hidalgo, one of the writers who helps insure that the larger SW continuity doesn't contradict itself, said on Twitter recently that "Gray Jedi" are bunk. (The Gray Jedi were a faction in the old EU that used both the Light Side and the Dark Side of the Force without turning evil.) So I suspect it's more of a "The Jedi don't have a monopoly on the Light Side" deal than anything else. But we'll see.

That could also be it. Then again, if we're being literal the new order of force users wouldn't end up being Jedi anyway.

This is funny: twitter.com/CharlesSoule/status/860110016627580928
Guy's watching all the Star Wars movies (including Rogue One) for the first time, in chronological order. Confusion abounds, and some very odd predictions. Okay, not really. He's a comic book writer, who's worked on Star Wars comics no less, and is just pretending complete ignorance of Star Wars as a joke.

A cool photo album. imgur.com/a/6ridxRey and Luke in their Jedi-ish robes; Finn; Captain Phasma with a pike; Kylo Ren trying to be edgy; the Praetorian Guard for Supreme Leader Snoke; and Snoke himself.
