So I'm assuming that everyone has seen this: I have to say...I love 'ball bot' already.

Goofy lightsaber, ruined forever, etc etc. Seriously though, I'm cautiously optimistic. I really liked the shot of that lady in the hooded cloak setting off on that huge, clunky hoverbike. And, though the teaser didn't show them off very well, I like what I've seen of the Apple iTrooper armor in other publicity photos.

I've heard complaints about the lightsaber hilt. But what bothers me more, personally, is the jagged contours of the blade. I'm used to seeing a clean, straight line for a lightsaber blade. It is, after all, supposed to be a more elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
Then again, perhaps that effect was intentional. Like there's a bit of savagery in the character that extends to the construction of their weapon of choice. Time will tell.

The rumor I've heard is that it's supposed to be a really damn old lightsaber. An inelegant weapon from a time before civilization.

I really like the storm trooper design too. Especially because it looks just like the originals and yet brand new. Apple itrooper is appropriate. For me, the best news is that they're using puppetry over CGI. Lots of what we've seen is real, including ball bot. I'm not sure about that new light saber. It looks dangerous to the user, but time will tell.

I love how they followed the style of the original movies rather than prequels. It just looks more authentic and less deliberately future-y. And honestly, I think the lightsaber hilt makes sense. Using a lightsaber is asking to lose fingers.

Yeah the original x wings and the Falcon are great to see again.

I don't care how impractical it is, when I saw that lightsaber crossguard light up I was 8 years old again for just a split second.
And holy shit is it amazing to see the old ships come to life with modern special effects.

I know, that's what I liked most about it: they really nailed the aesthetic of the original trilogy.

All three of the good ones (the Falcon, the x wings, and the TIEs) rendered in modern graphics and fighting in the atmosphere. I am happy with that.

Very nice.
Though if the guy with the robot hand is supposed to be Luke Skywalker, I have to wonder why he went from a looks-just-the-real-thing cyborg hand to a chrome-EVERYWHERE cyborg hand. Seems like a bit of a downgrade.
TIE Fighters have a black paint job now?
So apparently one of the protagonists is related to the Skywalkers—but they didn't specify which protagonist, or how they're related. EDIT: Because the trailer voiceover is taken from Return of the Jedi—specifically the conversation on Endor when Luke explains to Leia why he has to confront Darth Vader—and edited a bit. Huh.

Rule Of Cool, probably. If I had a fake hand, I'd want it to look awesome.

I just saw this photoset today. Mark Hamill autographed some Star Wars cards and was a hilarious smartass about it: imgur.com/gallery/8ketU
