All right, seeing as though I seem to be becoming more involved than I expected with the creation of this game than I expected, I thought I should announce that and form a place to discuss it for those interested. As a community project, I have been making suggestions from quite early in the development and recently, I was given the opportunity to do some minor writing for it (basically, I help write some of the in-game documents). Note that I am not in charge or second-in-command and they are keeping a lot of stuff, especially about the plot secret for now, but it looks very promising.
For those who don't know, Pokemon Twitch Version (formerly, Twitch Plays Pokemon: The Game) is a Pokemon fangame (NOT a romhack. It's an independent, executable file) with a plot based on the stories produced by Twitch Plays Pokemon and including the characters of Twitch Plays Pokemon (the protagonists acting as pseudo-rivals). All released pokemon and mega-evolutions are available with ORAS megas planned. Instead of two, their are EIGHT possible player characters to choose from. Your actions in the game affect what happens to the "hosts", both your parents are important to the plot and are nameable and post-game includes the option to romance one of the hosts.
This is a big project, so release date is uncertain, yet progress is going well and we are well past the first gym with plans for alpha-testing after the second gym.
I know a couple of minor details that haven't been released to the public, but I obviously can't talk about those and it really is only a couple and they really are minor. I'm almost as in the dark as the public.
Feel free to discuss or ask questions. I can't promise I'll be able to answer the questions, but I might be able to pass them on if I don't know the answer.

I guess I'll start by asking, what is Twitch Plays Pokemon. What's it like?

Well, the ''original'' TPP was a video stream that a guy set up. The idea was that there was a live-chat attached to the stream, and by entering instructions, it would send directions to the game. I.e. entering "A" into the chat would press the "A" button on the game in the stream (in this case, a copy of Pokemon Red). Thing is, tens of thousands of people are all doing this at once, meaning its the equivalent of 10,000 people all fighting over a controller. And this being the internet, a whole lot of lore formed about the universe of the game. The Tvtropes page sums it up pretty well. "Twitch Plays Pokemon Red" is the first and most popular. And now apparently they're creating a new game, probably because they ran out actual pokemon games to play.

Okay. JT got the basics down. Twitch Plays Pokemon started as Twitch Plays Pokemon Red (which you could consider the first chapter, I guess). Thousands of people controlled the same character and it became very chaotic. The chaos lead to explanations for what was happening and why the character was acting like that which developed into lore and then stories in a shared universe. Basically lots of people drew art, made comics and wrote stories that built on each other while inspired by the events of the game. I'll get into the lore later.
We are currently about to play Omega Ruby (hen it's released), but there are plans to do ROMhacks and stuff later. Pokemon Twitch Version is not made by the original Streamer or for Twitch to play (though we would be pleased if it is in the future). It's basically an elabourate piece of fanart in the form of a game that we are hoping will be a lot of fun and will be quite interesting considering how intricate the Universe and stories have become.
The Lore:
It's very difficult to sum up quickly, but I'll go through the basic concepts and characters:
The Voices:
The story of TPP has fourth wall interaction. The audience are actual characters of the story, known as The Voices (most commonly). The Voices are extradimensional beings that manifest as Unown that speak to their hosts. The Voices are extremely powerful, yet limited to influencing one person at a time. They grant their hosts extraordinary ability and resistance to fatigue, hunger and thirst, but also extreme clumsiness. Some hosts find the experience extremely traumatic while others are on friendly terms with The Voices.
The Fossil Pantheon:
In the TPP universe, fossils are gods. They exist in pairs and represent game mechanics among other things. The most important god is Lord Helix, god of Anarchy (Chaos, fun, dancing, fast food, etc.). The gods tend to conflict with their opposite and this gets VERY bad between Helix and Dome, god of Democracy (Order, sports, television, etc.) The gods are usually mediated by Lord Amber, god of Balance (Demarchy, compromise, dragons, etc.). These three are the top three of the pantheon. Lord Amber is opposed by Lord Drive, god of Imbalance (Conflict, destruction, oppression, insects, etc.). Helix is the most popular god, but they all have their fans. They are not great at dealing with problems in a mature fashion.
The Johto Heathen/Gatorists:
This group hates the gods, blames them for the suffering in the world and works to destroy them. They are generally considered misguided extremists who nevertheless had excellent points and were extremely sympathetic.
Commeownism/Commewnism:
This is the philosophy that all pokemon are equal and should be treated equally. Co,meownists generally look to feline pokemon for guidance though. As the name suggests, Commeownists don't like capitalists and believe that the weak and poor should be supported, even if the rich and strong need to make sacrifices in order to do so. Chairman Meow, the father of Commeownism, lived up to this by stepping down in favour of his son, Karl Marc and his friend, DJ Stalinking.
The Outsiders:
Another extradimensional, but malevolent and destructive force, they have created mirrors to the fossil pantheon in The Dark Gods as well as abominations such as Domalakazam, the entity of democracy and murder who convinces people to vote for him, then kills them. Some insane people, such as Dr. Fennel, worship the Outsiders.
It's late, so I'll add more tomorrow, but feel free to ask questions in the mean time.

Okay. I guess I'll add a bit more now.
I forgot to mention that The Voices give practically irresistible commands to their hosts.
The Curse of Fire:
Fire pokemon and fire starters in particular had terrible luck for the first few games, often being released and never making it into the Hall of Fame. It was decided that they had a curse, possibly placed by Drive as fire is her one weakness. Solareon, the Flareon from Platinum and Wilbur, the Emboar from Blaze Black 2 are praised as the curse-breakers as Solareon was the first fire-type to make it ino the Hall of Fame and was the most powerful mon on his team and Wilbur was the first fire-starter to survive and he reached level 100.
The Will of Water:
It is said that the water-type is blessed by Helix to have the potential to be incredibly badass. Starting with Kappareon the Vaporeon, it became legend that a strong water pokemon would lead The Voices to victory. This is known as the Will of Water.
The Legend of Grass:
Grass-starters are under a similar curse to fire-types be forever ignored and abandoned and treated as non-existent. It is possible that this curse can be overcome by pretending that the grass pokemon is a normal-type. This may explain how Aipom Jr., the Sceptile from Blaze Black 2 reached the Hall of Fame.
The Will of the Three:
While the Will of Water is strong, it is at it's strongest when supported by fire and grass. This is how Chloe defeated Lord Drive.
Releasing:
The biggest pain and source of fear is the PC as it can release pokemon. This takes our pokemon away. The exact interpretation of what is happening varies, but it is often treated as death. The PC is dangerous, terrifying and evil and has caused tragedies like Bloody Sunday and Massacre Monday. Bill's invention of the PC is why he is the main villain and Mr. Medal aka Medal Guy is a hero who protects people from the danger of the PC. He was inspired by Jimmy.
The Ledges:
Another one of our greatest foes, ledges are very difficult to traverse and have caused massive delays. They are sometimes treated as Dome's creations and sapient and evil. They can only be defeated by skiddo.
The Randomiser:
Bill created a machine, possibly using Helix's power, to spread chaos throughout Kanto and Johto. It resulted in a lot of crazy poemon like punching birds and flying slaking.
Wild Rides:
Some puzzles have become extremely difficult, taking loads of time to solve and these are referred to as wild rides. The first was Mr. Giovanni's wild ride ie. the spinny tiles.
Stadium/The White City:
Randomised (and later, partially controlled) stadium matches between pokemon started happening and you can bet imaginary money on them. This tournament is controlled by Lord Skull, god of Luck and Offence and Lord Armor, god of Strategy, Skill and Defense.
Entei, the Worst Pokemon:
Despite having the semi-diving power of a legendary, Entei is the world's most useless pokemon who sucks at everything and you should never bet on him (Entei earned a terrible reputation for continually losing in Stadium). Misty even recruited him once and he still lost.
I'll give more later.

Okay. Sorry that it's been a while. Been a bit distracted. Also, they've started requesting side-quest ideas.
Anyway, a bit more. I actually wrote a bit more about the Fossil Pantheon at TVTropes, so here it is:
Helix, the most famous, is the god of Anarchy (and chaos, dance, fun, fast food etc.)
Dome is the goddess of Democracy (and order, sport, television etc.)
Amber is the god of Balance (and compromise, mega-evolution, sortition, dragons, etc.)
Root is the goddess of Speech (and knowledge, visual art, communication, plants, earth, etc.)
Claw is the god of Silence (and sneakiness, skateboarding, stoicism, etc.)
Skull is the god of Luck (and offence, wrath, gambling, etc.)
Armor is the god of Strategy (and skill, defense, etc.)
Cover is the god of Fairness (and life, performing arts, nature, ninja, etc.)
Plume is the goddess of Cheating (and death, science, technology, pirates, etc.)
Jaw is the god of Conflict (and isolation, war, the future, possibilities, determination, etc.)
Sail is the goddess of Interaction (and trade, economics, desire, longing, the past, paths not taken, community, etc.)
Drive (Genesect) is the goddess of Imbalance (and destruction, oppression, unfair advantages, machines, formes, etc.)
Bill:
"And above all, I'm just better at this than you."
"You will NEVER get rid of me."
"Remember the monster I became. Remember what it was like living under a tyrant with the power of life and death. And don't let it ever happen again."
Hoo boy! Bill is pretty much the biggest antagonist we've had so far. He was the main villain in Emerald, Fire Red and Heart Gold, but was active from Red to Heart Gold. He created the PC system and deliberately made it so that it would be difficult for us to use and make us release pokemon easily. He got Lanette's help to make it even worse later on (She's pretty devoted to him). He used to be a disciple of Dome, but betrayed her sometime after the start of Red and before the start of Fire Red. He also created the randomiser to spread chaos. He is often referred to as Lord Bill. It was also his abra, his first pokemon, that was eventually mutated into Domalakazam. He is also the source of our eevees. Bill is a genius and very infuriating, with a pretty trollish attitude towards us. He's ruthless, dangerous and does whatever it takes to achieve his goals. He is also the father of Alice, the Fire Red host.
Red:
"The voices tell me the future. I will lay to rest the restless spirits. I will destroy you and your organization. I will climb to the peak of this land, with all the Badges and accolades it has to offer. And then... There will be silence."
“Voices, this is the last time you’ll hear anything from me. I've learned the value of silence. You’ve needed hundreds of thousands of commands to control me, but I only need one to control you: Up.”
"..."
Red was the host from Twitch Plays Pokemon Red. He hated being a host more than any other, finding being directed by the Voices really traumatising to the point that he threatened to have Helix destroy the world when the next host came for him. Despite that, Red does appreciate a lot of things from his travels. He was chosen by Helix and would enjoy consulting him for advice. The Voices made him very powerful, making him defeat his rival, Blue very easily most times, for example. Red intensely disliked Dome and the slowness of democracy mode. He gladly became champion as he wanted to, but later retired to the holy site of Mount Silver to spend time with Helix and away from the noise of society. His final team was known as the Chosen Six.
Blue:
"What? You stinker! I took it easy on you too!"
Blue was Red's rival. He was extremely arrogant and boastful and may have been chosen by Dome to fight Red. Despite that, he was rarely a threat. He eventually became a gym leader and he caught articuno and moltres, presumably to one-up Red's zapdos.
Giovanni:
"So! I must say, I am impressed you got here!"
The leader of Team Rocket and a very dangerously genre savvy foe. He exploited our weaknesses and built puzzles that would be very difficult for us to get through. He is also the (terrible) father of Silver and Four. In Fire Red, he became a martial artist with fighting pokemon.
I'll add more soon.

Red's Pokemon:
Red's final team was known as The Chosen Six, but they aren't the only important ones.
aaabaaajss the Pidgeot ("Bird Jesus","ABBA Jesus", "The Savior"):
"Do unto others EXACTLY as they do unto you."
Red's signature pokemon and his most powerful for most of the run, Bird Jesus is highly praised by the mob for his power and luck. His signature move for a large part of the run was Mirror Move, resulting in his motto. He eventually also learned Sky Attack, because its Japanese name translates to "God Bird". His nickname was due to his power and loyalty and he was seen as Helix's prophet.
AA-j the Zapdos ("Double-A Jay", "Archangel of Justice", "Battery Bird", "Anarchy Jesus", "Bird Judas", "Bird Zeus", "John the Zaptist", "Apple Jacks", "Bird Jesus 2: Electric Boogaloo", etc.):
Thunder rocked the stage from the wings of AA-J -All Terrain Victory, Church of Helix Choir
Despite one of his nicknames being Bird Judas, that is more commonly the nickname of Blue's pidgeot and AA-J is usually beloved. He is Red's most powerful pokemon and even catching him was a victory, as was retrieving him, despite the cost being Bloody Sunday. There are those who vilified him for causing so much destruction, but most love him for how well he did against the Elite Four, some calling it his penance.
Better get back to this later.

Thanks. That's good to know. Yeah, I realise that the scale is very extreme. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to address them. Also, I forgot to mention that the "Legend of Grass" is also known as the "Indifference of Grass". Anyway, back to Red's pokemon: Omastar (Helix Fossil, "Lord Helix", "Our Lord and Savior", "O-Master Helix", "Our Mastar"): ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ PRAISE HELIX ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ - The Voices Due to his fossil being continually selected, it was decided that Red was consulting him for advice as he was Red's god. The common response was to follow Red's example and make him our god too (eventually followed by the other fossils). The Stream had two main ways of processing commands known as Anarchy and Democracy. As Anarchy was older and more popular (especially at first), Helix was seen as the god of Anarchy, fighting Dome, god of Democracy who was commonly seen as evil (though some fundamentalists still see her as so and see Helix as the one true god). Nowadays, they're more commonly seen as rivals with massive egos trying to outdo each other. They are the the pair most often in conflict but they will work together. It's even implied that Dome is actually tsundere for Helix and LIKES having him as her rival. She wants to beat him, but wants him to stick around as well (as long as everyone remembers that she's better than him). AIIIIIIRRR the Lapras ("Air", "Air Jordan", "The Fresh Prince[ss] of Bel-Air", "Airbender"): "No SURFing on AIIIIIIRRR here!" Air was received and mainly functioned to be a surf slave. There was actually a problem in that people wanted a Vaporeon for that job (more on that later) Despite that, Air still performed well enough in battle, despite her relatively low level. Air has an ambiguous gender. One of her nicknames indicated that she was male, but checking her stats led to the realisation that she was female, and yet when we fought her in Crystal, she was male. In any event, she is considered royalty and a basketball player. AATTVVV the Venomoth ("All-Terrain Venomoth", "Democramoth", "AT Vampire", "The Dragon(ite) slayer," "Dragonborn", "Dovahmoth," "All Total Vanquisher," "Mothra"): Then ATV began to fight, Against the fearsome Dragonite, Dragonskin is still terrain, Our hero lived up to his name. - All-Terrain Victory, Church of Helix Choir ATV is most well known for an event so awesome, it became a defining event of the fandom and is my favourite event of TPP Red. ATV was caught in the Safari Zone, which required extensive use of the easier Democracy Mode. His capture in democracy led some to associate him with democracy and dome, but he was eventually seen as a servant of Helix with the rest of the Chosen Six. He is typically seen as an amputee with all-terrain wheels instead of legs. He was added to the party after Bloody Sunday and his low level meant that little was expected of him. Then, when fighting Lance, something amazing happened. Lance's dragonite, his last pokemon, vs ATV, Red's last pokemon. ATV was about thirty levels lower. ATV disabled hyperbeam. Then, the poor AI of gen 1 led to the dragonite repeatedly using barrier and agility. ATV responded with poison powder and leech life, slowly whittling away his health, winning without a scratch. The fans were amazed and praised ATV, giving him the title of "Dragonslayer". Blue was not defeated on that attempt, but ATV had proven that he deserved to be there. AAAAAAAAAA the Nidoking (pre-evolution "The Fonz", "Straight A's", "Ace"; post-evolution "King Fonz", "Moon King"): Fonz was another Safari pokemon, but when he entered the party after Bloody Sunday as a nidorino, Red went back to get a Moon stone to turn him into a useful member of the team, and he was. After evolving, he was seen as a King, due to his pokemon name. Other important pokemon belonging to Red: Drowzee ("The Keeper", "The Companion"): He once was an important member of the party, but after Bloody Sunday, it was interpreted that he voluntarily stayed in the PC to keep evils at bay and protet good pokemon from its influence. There is a minority who see him as evil though, pinning the blame of events on other pokemon when he was truly involved. Gastly ("Rick Gastly", "The Holy Spirit"): Was put in the daycare to make room for other pokemon without risking the PC. Was interpreted as taking up a singing career an supporting his team from the sidelines. CCC the Hitmonlee ("C3KO", "Triple-C", "C3PO"): The pokemon of Red's with the shortest lifespan (38 minutes). Was interpreted as a robot or cyborg. Popular mainly for his name (which takes extra significance later) and short lifespan. ABBBBBBK( ("Abby") the Charmeleon: Red's starter. Universally seen as female and often drawn in a spiked collar. She was the second to be released by the PC, almost immediately after the first. She is also often drawn with the S.S. Ticket, another object that was initially praised and consulted. Her release is often blamed on Flareon as we will see. JLVWNNOOOO ("Jay Leno") the Rattata: Based on the celebrity of the same name, he was the first released when The Mob (another name for The Voices) attempted to deposit Flareon. He was also the first victim of another curse. The first early route com mon to be caught is almost always released. AAJST( ? the Raticate ("Digatta", "Dig Rat", "ZipZap Rat", "BigDig", "Digraticate", "Bigrat", "Apollo/Apostle Justice"): "AAJST( ? used DIG!" Digrat was so named because of his signature move which sometimes helped out, but more commonly put us back at the start of puzzles we were trying to solve. This was really annoying, but he was seen as lovable despite this. He was one of the more well-known victims of Bloody Sunday. Dux the Farfetch'd ("King Leer", "Slayer of Trees"): "No one fux with the Dux!" -The Voices The first victim of the cut curse. The first pokemon to learn cut is almost always released. Dux was a fan favourite as he was the result of an in-game trade and cutting trees was very difficult in TPP Red, so his ability to do so was considered very impressive. He was another Bloody Sunday victim. He was also known for frequently using Leer. Flareon ("Anti-Helix", "False Prophet", "False Shepherd", "The Martyr"): Hoo boy! This is a figure of controversy! The need for a pokemon who could surf resulted in an argument about whether we should go for eevee and evolve it into vaporeon or go for Lapras. Eevee was obtained and attempts to but attempts to buy a water stone resulted in spending all our money on pokedolls and a fire stone. Eevee received the fire stone and evolved into what is typically considered the worst eeveelution, when our starter had fire coverage and we still couldn't surf. Attempts to deposit her resulted in the first two releases and in their fury, The Voices called her the False Prophet, agent of Dome who had killed our friends. They then released her in retaliation. Later examination of he stats would reveal her as female, which quickly was accepted. Then, after Bloody Sunday, when attempts to retrieve Zapdos resulted in the release of twelve pokemon, some wondered if he too was an evil agent of Dome. But Zapdos quickly proved useful when he was retrieved, so some ignored this, while others, like myself, decided that it proved Flareon innocent with some even calling her a martyr. Nowadays, this is considered a huge deal that people can't convince each other about and arguments will sometimes erupt over it, but it's typically ignored and treated as something people won't agree on. There is no canon in TPP and there are variations to everything. It IS common to see her as Dome's prophet though, even among those who like Dome. x(araggbaj the gloom ("Cabbage", "Aragorn", "Seed of Hope", "Cabbage the Grey"): Cabbage was caught as an oddish at a point when morale was low. She (and she's typically seen as female) quickly endeared herself to The Mob and she earned the title The Seed of Hope, representing innocence and determination to succeed. However after evolving into a gloom, she was released during Bloody Sunday. The symbolism hurt. I remember that I watched Bloody Sunday and was horrified and like most, I cried. Those are Red's important Pokemon. A few other points. Of the Elite Four, Lorelei's Dewgong kept using Rest, which was insulting. Lance would go on to become more important in later runs. He became a servant of Amber, even using him on his team but he still felt humiliated by ATV and would eventually switch to poison and later electric types. He is still considered cool and badass, even having the nickname "Batman". He is sometimes seen as a mentor to some of the later hosts, particularly Aooo. He also got twin Raikous. Super Nerd Miguel : "OK! I'll share! We'll each take one! No being greedy!" He's the one who gave Red Helix and Alice Dome. He's sometimes seen as a pawn of Bill. Clingy Girl/Revive Girl "REVIVE is costly, but it revives fainted Pokémon!" Revive Girl is a clingy jealous girl who trapped Red in the mart to give him advice and because she had a crush on him. Fishermen Wade and Ronald Wade: "I seem to only catch Magikarp!" Ronald: "That burned a lot of time." These are two fat fishermen on an island that Red got stuck on. It was called Fat Guy Island and was difficult to escape. Burglar Simon "I wonder where my partner went." A burglar that trapped Red. His partner, Arnie, would eventually meet Alice. Misty "GUYS WE NEED TO BEAT MISTY" -The Voices Misty's popularity, a bit of confusion and some memetic mutation resulted in this being spammed in the chat long after we had beaten Misty. Misty quickly became even more popular and attractive to The Voices and their hosts and any opportunity to interact with, and especially beat, Misty is jumped on. Misty's confusion and trauma over people continually wanting to beat her over and over again eventually drove her insane, causing her to develop an obsession with poison, arson and beating the Hosts. She does get psychiatric help, but is typically returned to her job before she is ready, starting the process all over again. Some blame her starmie for refusing to admit defeat and that this is why people are determined to prove they can beat her. The Old Man: This old man continually showed Red how to catch Weedles ... long after Red already had seven badges. There are those who believe that this is because Viridian city has an overpopulation of Weedles. Xxx: An alternate version of Red accidentally created at one point. I think that this is a good place to end this post, as now we're about to go deeper than before, into the less popular, but more intricate games afterwards.

For a start, here is a summary of Crystal to Firered: www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/24fs70/to_anyone_who_has_been_away_heres_a_summary_of/Another post by the same guy very recently on the stories of the runs: It's a little tricky. Twitch Plays Pokemon is really an exercise in community storytelling, with lots of people providing things. So it gets quite complex. This, for example, is a summary of TwitchPlaysPokemon Crystal to TwitchPlaysPokemon FireRed, just three games. But that's probably not what you're looking for, so here's something much shorter I prepared earlier: The nine hosts: Red (Red) AJ (Crystal) A (Emerald) Alice (FireRed) Napoleon (Platinum) Aoooo (HeartGold) Jimmy (Black) Cly (Blaze Black 2) D (X) Important themes: All the fossils, including ones from later games like Root and Claw, were often treated as gods. In Pokemon Red, Red embarked on a quest to become Pokemon Champion. Along the way, he was joined by the God Helix (Omanyte), the prophet Bird Jesus, and many others. In Crystal, AJ, Lazergator and the Godslayers went to Mount Silver, fought Red, and defeated Helix. In Emerald, A became the leader of the A-team, a police force. Antagonist Pokemon were sent to infiltrate our team From Emerald to HeartGold, Bill, creator of the PC and former ally of Dome, actively fought against us, sending Pokemon to infiltrate our team, trying make us use the PC, and helping our enemies. In FireRed, our Pokemon team was a team of communists. In FireRed, Alice, daughter of Bill, resurrected the Dome fossil, along with Amber. Both were locked in Bill's PC. In Platinum, things are too complicated to summarize like this. In HeartGold, almost all the gods were assembled on one team by Aoooo. Bill returned one final time, and was defeated. Longer post covering Platinum to X: www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/2jnhg6/i_have_been_away_from_tpp_since_the_end_of/cldd2xsList of Villains: www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/2jelw5/prehalloween_hype_list_of_tpp_villains/(He also linked the TVTropes page, which is also very helpful, but you've got that already) Some other useful lists: www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/2ha7fh/all_of_my_lists_compilation_post/With that, I'll continue my own explanation: Twitch Plays Pokemon Crystal "No Gods, No Kings, Only Mon'" Consistently one of the most popular stories of the series, being near the top of everyone's favourites, Crystal was the start of the attempt to make the stories more serious and organised. It was also the result of initially attempting to copy Red before rejecting that idea and injecting a lot of meta which never left. It also started the tradition of seeing the runs a sequels to each other, with each being influenced by the events of the previous runs. It was run on a ROMhack that made all 251 of the first two gens of pokemon available without trading and was modified to give Red his TPP team (something widely suspected but only confirmed when we first met him to extreme excitement). AJDNNW "AJ" (AJ Downs, AJ Downey Jr,) "We will create a world where no one has to live up to unfair expectations. A world without gods or kings. Only mon'." AJ and his pokemon were quickly compared (and often unfavourably) to Red and his team. It was AJ's starter, Lazorgator, who first decided to put an end to this and after his treatment by the Voices, AJ was happy to go along with Lazorgator's mission. Aj is typically seen as the adopted child of a lesbian couple. He is a momma's boy, but had been trained as a child soldier. He was eager to be given a mission by The Voices, but his pokemon gave him a greater mission - To protect them from The Voices and their gods. AJ was also the first host for whom romance was a big deal and he s part of the biggest OTP in the fandom. AJxJoey. Joey is an extremely important character, so I'll get to him later. Silver: AJ's rival, Silver was far more dangerous and vicious than Blue with a team which exploits our weaknesses much better. He is Giovanni's son, presumed to be the first child. Four is presumed to be his younger sibling. AJ's Team, the Godslayers/Godslayer Army: These pokemon were characterised by a military theme and how much they respected each other. AAAAAtttta the Feraligatr ("LazorGator", "King Leer II", "Gatorage", "The Crocken" (as Croconaw), "Godslayer", "Major Gator", "Major Lazor", "The General"): "I never wanted to grow up." "You killed my Prince. I'll kill your gods." "Helix! It is time for you to answer for your crimes!" "It was like he was fighting beside me." Aj's first, signature and strongest pokemon, Crystal is HIS story and he went from being hated by the mob, to winning most popular character fairly recently. He was called Lazorgator as he would often use Leer at first, which looked like lazors in Gen 2. He quickly become the most powerful member of the team, resulting in him soaking up all the experience. This angered The Mob who decided to kill him via deliberate release. The first attempt resulted in the release of Admiral VV, Lazorgator's mentor. This caused him to lose his playful nature and take up his mentor's sword, finally allowing himself to grow up and evolve and to protect the others. The second attempt resulted in the release of Prince Omelette, whom Lazorgotor cared for. He was furious and learned that the Church of Helix had declared them heretics. He knew that the Voices demanded his release. He decided that if Helix wanted to kill him and his friends, he didn't deserve to be worshiped and should be killed instead. AJ listened to him and agreed. He succeeded and it was years before Helix could properly resurrect himself. He is typically drawn with Cyclops's visor. He also killed Suicune in disgust at meeting a pokemon who considered itself special enough to be considered "legendary". It was that act that first earned him the title, "The Godslayer". EDIT:He was my favourite of the Gen 1's too! EDIT: Added Lazorgator's quotes.

By the way, the Reddit wiki (http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/wiki/index) is also quite useful. As are some other wiki's, but a lot of them are out of date unfortunately. Check the Lore Hub specifically. Lot's of good stuff there, including beautiful art.
BBBBBD the Pidgeot ("Brian", "Private Brian"):
Ace: But I'm not special. I'm just a nobody.
Brian: ... Then you'll fit right in.
Originally seen as the return of Bird Jesus, he was later seen as a disappointing replacement, but Brian hated the comparison and joined Lazorgator to take down Bird Jesus and become his own mon. Some think that Bird Jesus himself actually encouraged him to be his own person while he was in the daycare.
AAAS RJ-I the Espeon ("Burrito", "Breakfast Burrito", "Sexpeon" "Assassin Rouge/Red Assassin", "Espeonage", "Espresseon", various acronyms):
"Senpai, please notice me!"
"See anything you like?" *wink*
A relative of Flareon, Burrito was given to AJ by Bill in an attempt to further sabotage the Voices. However, Burrito was young and not yet properly influenced by Bill, quickly becoming attached to his new trainer and team. He became the team's heart and conscious, soothing Lazorgator. Burrito's signature move is Attract, using it on everyone and everything. He also evolved, by friendship, during an attempt to spread love an positivity throughout the Mob. As such, he is associated with the power of love and friendship. Burrito is pansexual, flirty, seductive and androgynous, capable of seducing nearly everyone, a notable exception being Will's Xatu-senpai. There is even a dating Sim being developed called Twitch Dates Pokemon starring Burrito as the protagonist. It was Burrito's evolution that truly united everyone in support of AJ and his team.

KT the Dragonite ("Katie","Princess Katie"):
Katie was a gift who came to AJ as she wanted to fight ATV, the Dragonslayor. She was commonly seen as the daughter of Lance's dragonite and the princess of dragonites, out for revenge, but she bonded with her teammates as well. She eventually defeated him in battle.
AAJRR RRR the Steelix ("METAL GEAR", "Solid Snake", "Big Boss", "Junior"):
"And when other pokemon turn to me and ask, 'What did you do with your life?', I will be able to answer with pride, 'I served alongside The General'."
Solid Snake was the last of the pokemon to join the team. He was a bitter, cynical pokemon who spent time in Victory road, uncaring of the problems of the world and when he first met AJ's team, he thought they were ridiculous, even mocking them, but they convinced him of their mission and he joined them so that he could help achieve something great. He is typically drawn with an eyepatch and is the team tank, using leftovers and was instrumental in wearing down AAJ so that the rest of the team could take down Red.
OXXOZZ -: the Metapod ("Oxxy Ozworme", "Love Bug", "Oxxy Clean"):
A female, metapod, Ozzy Osborne.
Smoochum ("Duke Smoochum", "Smoochi Minaj"):
Another young, musician, she was received as an egg.
IAAAJS the Goldeen ("Master Goldeen") "AJDNNW used the Master Ball. Gotcha! GOLDEEN was caught!"
Red used the Master Ball on AAJ. AJ had no need for mon that thought they were better than everyone else. He judged true quality. What is in the heart. After Master Goldeen was caught, there were no more releases in Crystal.
Hoothoot ("Hooters", "Doctor Hoot", "Hootio", "Hootigi"):
Commonly thought to be The Doctor from Doctor Who or a psychiatrist helping the team cope.
Shuckie the Shuckle ("Shuck Norris", "The Kraken"):
A grizzled shuckle given to AJ for safekeeping, he helped out in battle as well.
A the Raticate ("Eh", "Mountie", "A Raticate", "Ace"):
"Go on, buddy. AJ needs you." - Joey
"My rattata? He's doing just fine." - Joey
Ace is often interpreted as Joey's top percentage rattata, a rattata far more powerful than an ordinary rattata and a gift to AJ. Ace was an important member of the team for a long time, even reaching the Hall of Fame, but he was deposited before Mount Silver. This is often thought to be Lazorgator ordering him to stay away so that he can continue the mission should the Godslayers fall. Under one popular interpretation. He did so, discovering the Bill was the true enemy and helping Joey protect the hosts before being transformed into the bonsly, Treesus, by Bill's randomiser, becoming the Prophet of Root and landing the final blow which took down Altareon and Bill. Ae is a very popular character and people often complain when AJ's team is drawn without him.
VV the Sentret, formerly ADiiiiihhh ("The Admiral", "Adidas", "Addy", "Vendetta", "Admiral Vivi"):
A former military pokemon caught by AJ, he was taught cut with his sword. He took it upon himself to mentor Lazorgator and protect the team. Lazorgator really admired Admiral VV and took up his sword, learning cut, when he was released. In honour of him, Lazorgator used cut in the final, nerve-wracking battle against Bird Jesus. Kyler Thatch has him as an avatar at the time I write this.
:n the Drowzee ("Colonel", "Colonel N", "Colinn", "N"):
Another member of the army released.
Togepi ("Prince Omelette", "Lord Omelette"):
Received as an egg, he was very popular due to being cute and the fun of watching him use metronome, which he was very lucky with. His release horrified the Mob, resulting in a Heel Realisation and this started the story of crystal and the support of Lazorgator.
Wooper ("Wooper Goldberg", "Burger King" "Super Whooper"):
Yet another entertainer that lended their support, but he (yes, he was male) was released.

Will: The first of the Elite Four, he is most notable for his Xatu which we wanted and tried to catch and which Burrito tried, and faild, to attract. He's been interpreted as a very desirable pokemon and one of the few immune to Burrito's charms (poor Burrito). Koga: (K. O. ga) In Red, he was less important, but even then, poison types were a weakness for our style of play. In Crystal, he became more important, as we kept missing him when trying to talk to him, which resulted in us interpreting it as him using his ninja skills to hide. In Fire red, he'd switch to flying types and return to his old gym where he gave Alice a lot of trouble with his pure power, aeroblast ninjask. He was an Elite Four member again for Heart gold. Youngster Joey: "It's like my RATTATA is in the top percentage of RATTATA!" "༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ CALL JOEY AND TALK DIRTY TO HIM! ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ" - The Voices "WE NEED TO BANG JOEY" - The Voices "Call Joey!" - The Voices "WE HAVE TO CALL JOEY TO ACTIVATE DEMOCRACY" - The Voices "(ง •̀_•́)ง MARRY JOEY OR RIOT (ง •̀_•́)ง" - The Voices AJ collected the phone numbers of six boys and one girl who were seen as his love interests, but it was Joey who was seen as his true love. They can get a bit tsunderey to each other and AJ even deleted his number at one point, but he went back to get it from him. His powerful rattata was seen as having become Ace and leant to us. Joey would continue supporting the Hosts in later games and the Voices were always happy to interact with him. In one popular interpretation, he caught Celebi and travelled through time to support the hosts and lead an organisation to stop Bill. He certainly has caught other top-percentage pokemon, including some powerful ones, like a dragonair that knew roar of time. Whitney: "GUYS WE NEED TO MILK WHITNEY" - The Voices "Guys, we need to kill Whitney" - Bill The person Bill most fears and one of his greatest enemy, Whitney has access to his greatest weakness: Milk. Whitney is a powerful trainer with a dangerous miltank and Bill is lactose intolerant. Morty: One of the most dangerous gym leaders due to the difficulty of his puzzle, the Elite Floor as well as the fact that Ghosts are one of the Voices' biggest weaknesses. He would later worship Helix, even getting an omastar on his team in Heartgold. Brock: Brock became more important in Crystal, having become a cultist who used representations of Dome and Helix in his team. He is seen as the head of the church in Kanto and has manipulated it for power. Old Man With Abra (Old Man Abra): An old man who would use his abra to teleport people away from the Elite Four before they got a chance to challenge them. Kris ("The Girl Who Never Was"): Another player character accidentally created at one point. Well! This promising announcement just came in: imgur.com/lktpacp (along with assurances that despite the comedy, there will be plenty of serious stuff as well) Well! It's time to move on! The defeat of Helix sealed the Voices away forever. At least, that's what it should have done. However, a girl discovered a ritual to bring them back. Twitch Plays Pokemon Emerald "We will not let this region burn." - The A Team Fro Emerald onwards, there is a lot of individual interpretation of the different events, but I'll try to stay unbiased. It's usually accepted that there is a time skip between the end of Crystal and the start of Emerald. However, while the time skip from Red to Crystal is acknowledged as three years, there is big contention over the length of the skip from Crystal to Emerald. The more popular interpretation is that it was a long time. Maybe even hundreds of years. Others, like myself, believe that it was a short period of only a few years (which we think explains certain events much better). Personally, I say that it was around a decade. A ("A-Chan", A-Ko, Emma Stone, Slash, Camila, Camila A. Slash, Anarchy-Chan, Ana, etc.): "I've heard about you ... The Voices. You use trainers as your vessels. Fill their minds with commands they can't refuse. They can't sleep, they can't rest until you have led them to greatness. And now you've chosen me. Well then ... *grins* Let's turn this region Up-start-down!" A: Alas! My attention has been appropriated by an amalgamation of arguing articulations. These annoying antagonists are agents of an almighty and absolute being, and aspire to adopt me as their antihero. My aim - assuredly, as an act of arrogance - is to award their amoral absurdity with arousing their antithesis of anarchy, accord. The only answer is ATTACK! An acute assault, with such accuracy as to absolve my awareness and acquit me of their aggression. Admittedly, this alliteration is far too abverbial, so let me simply add that, actually, it’s authentically a good honor to meet you, and you may call me... A. Mr. T: Are you, like, a crazy person? A: I am quite sure they will say so. I'm off to work. I'll describe her later.
