It starts with the Season 1 premier, except Nightmare Moon captures the mane six and conquers Equestria. You're some OC pony. Are you a bad enough mare to rescue the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony?

I'm sure at lest 12 different forms of that fan fic already exist.

I'm pretty sure the fanbase would implode if the official game was "Self-Insert Fic: The Game".

Seriously though, as JT says, the fallout from this would probably finish off what's left of the fandom, as hilarious as it would be.

I just really want to see a platformer game of sorts come out, one where you can play as whichever of the Mane 6 you want. And the bosses would be various antagonists from the series such as Discord, Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, etc. Same with the enemies.

Isn't Adventure Ponies essentially just that?

It is, but an extremely minimalistic version. I'm assuming he means a version that's much longer and has more content.

A game with more enemies, maybe some worlds {Kind of like the Super Mario Bros games}, and graphics that are more 16-Bit so that the characters, backgrounds and such have actual detail on them.

I actually would prefer if a hypothetical game either explored a new plot or used new characters (or both). Having the Mane 6 rehash the plot of previously-shown episodes reeks of shovelware.

I agree. It should be a completely new adventure that's adding more to the verse instead of just rehashing something seen before.

I don't remember if I posted this anywhere before, but the one idea I had was basically a Day in the Limelight for Spike. It would've been a Spyro The Dragon type platformer. The plot is that the Nightmare Forces attack Ponyville by trapping everyone in their dreams (Celestia and Luna are also there for some reason that I haven't thought of yet). Luna, because of her dream walker powers, is able to communicate with Spike, who managed to avoid being captured due to the spell being specifically targeted at ponies. With Luna acting as Mission Control, he has to enter the dreams that everypony is trapped in and free them. Not only would it give Spike something legitimately important to do and give Luna and Celestia some more characterization, but it would be a lot of fun to go utterly nuts with the level design, with the excuse that each level is based on the mind of the pony in question, but corrupted by the Nightmares.
Like Twilight's level would take place in a giant library, with books that can attack you, Pinkie's level would basically look like Sugar Rush from Wreck-It Ralph, Rainbow Dash's would be inside of a storm, etc. The final battle would have Spike riding Celestia and Luna into battle against the Nightmares to break the spell completely and allow everypony to wake up.

JT...are you writing that as a fan fic?
Because that has to be written. That cannot be allowed to not exist.

I'm actually seriously tempted to make it my next big project after I finish ADB. It would be a nice change of pace.

Well you have my backing. It's a brilliant concept.

Thanks. I'll have to flesh out the concept a bit more. If I would go through and write it as a story, what order should I have him rescue the characters in. Rarity and Twilight would obviously be his first priorities, but I feel like that should get pushed back more. Like the spell is stronger on the element bearers, and as a result he has to weaken the spell by rescuing the side characters (the Cakes, the CMC, Cheerilee, Big Macintosh, etc.). It would be a good way to drum up tension in that he wants to go rescue his friends, but he can't do that yet.
