I'm off to see the new one tonight, which I've heard is brilliant. I forgot too how good the last one (rise of the Planet of the Apes) was. Like, surprisingly good for something about talking chimps.

It's funny how a remake that no one was asking for, ended up being so good. That said, I'm not sure if I want to see the new one.

From what I heard, the remake itself was meh, but it was the sequels that were decent. Which is even weirder.

You mean the Tim Burton version? That one was pretty bland. But I think Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of... are yet another reboot, not connected to Burton's version.

And I completely forgot about that Tim Burton one. At the time I thought it was good but now I think it's a bit pants. Good costumes though.
