I meant to do this sooner but I've been too busy.
A few weeks ago the English comedian Rik Mayall died at the way too young age of 56. You Americans would recognize Rik as the guy who played Fred in Drop Dead Fred. Here in the UK though he's known as Rik from The Young Ones, the two Lord Flashhearts from Blackadder, Alan B'stard from the show of the same name, Richie from Bottom and most recently 'Dad' from Man Down. He also played Peeves in Harry Potter, all of which was sadly cut from production.
He's been a big name on our screens for like, 30 years, and I grew up watching and loving his shows and characters. He was like the British answer to Jim Carry; he was a living cartoon character. He was also one of my favorite TV personalities and I'm so sorry to hear he died so suddenly. RIP Rik.
Here's a selection of his best bits that I could find:

I haven't seen any of his work, which makes this a real double shame. RIP

I haven't seen any of his work, which makes this a real double shame. RIP That's understandable, as he's virtually unheard of in the states. Did you watch the clips? What did you think?

It just tells me that I need to get around to watching Blackadder eventually.

Blackadder has been on my "To watch" list for some time. I really need to get around to it.

I would strongly recommend Blackadder, although the first series is like a completely different show.
And I moved this thread here because this seems like the more appropriate board for the topic at hand.
