So I got a moment to try drawing human J again. I think I'm getting there: I wanted her to be strong looking with a thick powerful body and a 'handsome' face (strong jaw and cheekbones). I'm not sure how well I achieved that but I think I'm slowly improving. how does the overall idea look? Not too manly I hope. I can't wait to have a proper stylus again, so the pics won't look so wiggly, scribbley and smudgy.

Body shape looks good to me.

Body shape looks good to me. Cool, thanks! I was worried that I made her too thick and messed up her face.

So I drew a Rainbow: I am finding it really hard to keep things consistent when drawing with my finger. I also based this pic on a pic someone did of Korra. The way they drew her just said 'human RD' to me.

I was trying to do some more art tonight but it was so poor I had to bin it. Eurgh, this sucks! I suck.

More humanized Rainbow Dash practice: every time I draw the style completely changes. I need new equipment big time.

Can't you physically draw on paper until you get your desktop and digital pad set up again? I imagine drawing with a pen on paper would be closer to drawing with a stylus on the computer, than drawing with your finger on a touchpad would be.

I want to, believe me. But at the moment, I don't actually have my own room anymore because we're practically rebuilding the house. This means that any drawings I do will effectively be 'out in the open', and I don't want the others to see them, y'know? A pen and paper will be the same as a stylus though, so it would good practice. And my finger is effing killing me! But I can't help it. I want to draw.

Fair enough.
I wonder which would get more of a reaction if you were discovered: drawing ponies, or drawing strange-colored girls in their underwear?

It's hard to tell. They would consider the first one weird, and the second one sad and pathetic. Eurgh, I hate all this crap I'm making at the moment. It is crap. I swear, first thing I'm doing when I get sorted is deleting it all. I know I can be a semi-decent artist if I just had the right equipment and space to do it in. Maybe I should stop with the silly human ponies too. EDIT: The reason why I'm trying so hard too is because I think I want my treasure hunting fic to be a webcomic too. It would combine two of passions together and I just feel like I could tell a better story in pictures. But I'm still out of my league.

I still haven't been able to watch the new episode but I did get a lend of a mouse and found the time to do more doodling. With better control of the pointer I was able to produce this Pinkie Pie: I only roughly coloured her in to get a quick idea of what she would look like, and I'll go back to redo it properly. What do you guys think of the design? I find working to a simplified cartoon style much more easy to work with than trying to create a realistic looking person. I used a lot of references to draw this. I hope I can develop a more unique style one day.

I found more art of mine from school. Another one from the 'new spin on something old' series with Belfast as the theme. This one was a pen drawing with colouring pencil. It was a copy of an old timey whimey photo placed over one of the same area from the time. Close detail: This took three weeks to do.

That looks pretty cool. Better than my art.

Thank you. In hindsight, it probably would have been better to have kept it all old timey. That, and to have picked a better colour than brown.
