This place is to talk about Warhammer 40,000. First of, who plays it ? Or is even aware of it?

Well I personally just have one thing to say about it. . .SEVENTH EDITION, WHAT?!

Yeah that was totally out of the blue! Editions always had a shelf life of about five to six years. 6th only got two, which also makes it my first edition without ever having played a game in (not counting the first two, which predate my discovery of the game and indeed, my birth). I'm a little annoyed at that, since it means I now have to buy another book.
Having said that...there looks to be some awesome changes to the game. Physic powers get their own phase in the game turn, mission objectives having a big overhaul, and biggest of all, unbound and battle forged armies.

I've been unable to find a reasonable summary of all the changes that are supposedly happening.

I can explain unbound and battle forged armies;
Battle forged armies are old style FOC chart following armies. To be battle forged they must follow the FOC, but for doing so they get bonuses. Very good ones too.
Unbound armies through the FOC out the window and take what they want. I'm not sure how far this goes just yet but the bonuses are obvious.

Unbound Armies sounds like a really bad idea to be honest, but it does sound like a nice way to get all kinds of fluffy armies without needing funky special rules/characters that ignore the FOC anyway.

Unbound armies have me worried too, over how silly they might get. But I'm actually excited over some of the stuff. Then there's some of the tweaks made to the core rules too.

Oh man... I remember back in the day when one of my friends tried getting me into 40K, and I'd only heard about it via the Fire Warrior videogame. The only thing I remember getting as far as doing was him buying a Tau Codex for me, but eventually he decided to keep it since he had a lot more financial leeway than I did.

This must have been a while ago though?

I was interested, but real life got in the way. Just like me then. I haven't been able to play a game since my first year of uni.

With my current project going on, think I should revive this thread?
