I fell into A gauntlet of fire I went down, down, down And the flames grew higher...
Anyway, this episode is a Spike fan's dream come true: a good episode about Spike, that doesn't hinge on him being incompetent or doubting himself. Also, it has some cool worldbuilding for dragons. In short, it's the episode that bronies everywhere really wanted "Dragon Quest" to be.
And Rarity still mines her own gems. That didn't stop being a thing that happened.
My one complaint is that it's explicitly canon now that all unicorn telekinesis produces visible light. Aside from how that disproved my fanfic, it raises a question of continuity. If those magical auras are visible to everypony, then why didn't anyone notice when Queen Chrysalis replaced Princess Cadance? Cadance's aura was teal, and Chrysalis's aura was green, even when she was in disguise.

Maybe they can't tell the differences between them or something, even if they can see the actual glow. I dunno. Or changeling magic or something.
And yeah, that was basically "What Dragon Quest Should've Been: The Episode".

I'm watching this episode now and already it's the coolest one I've seen in a long time.
And Rarity's sneeze was adorbs!

I have to say that Spike has done really well this season; all of his focus episodes have been really solid.
