AU's are totally canon now! Your AU fanfic is wrong now! Yay!
Also, I didn't have any problem with what happened to Starlight Glimmer.
You know, back in the season opener, Starlight broke the rules of how cutie marks work. Here, she breaks the rules of how time travel works. I wonder if breaking how magic is supposed to work, is going to become her thing.

I didn't mind it either. I just wish that they had allotted a bit more time to the build up rather than pulling it out at the last five minutes.
Everything else was epic though. The Sombra bit was probably the most hardcore stuff the show has done.

Despite my dislike of how the Starlight issue was resolved, I really liked all the timeline hopping. I was surprised at the Flim-Flam AU, though. Seriously, what did they do, turn Equestria into Rapture?
Also, I can't help but think of Bioshock Infinite. I know the similarities end with the time travel and parallel universes (which may not even be coexisting ones), but I finished the game twice just this month, so it's probably just a thought lingering in my head. Still, I did imagine Starlight and Twilight being the same pony from different timelines at one point.

So did this episode end with Twilight drowning Starlight in some stream where she learned her philosophy?

...You know, metaphorically speaking, that's sort of what happened.

. . .you're going to have to explain that to me, because it's almost certainly not as awesome as what I'm envisioning.

No, it just ends with Twilight getting Starlight on board with the whole "Friendship" thing, mostly by a montage of helping her befriend everyone. Basically she throws Starlight into the deep end of friendship.

I'm finally sitting down to watch this. EDIT: Why didn't I watch this sooner?

Because you were too busy remodelling and painting your room, apparently. Let us know how it goes. ;p

It seems like such a silly reason to put it off. But I've watched the first half and wow, this is dark. The girls really are the saviours of equestria, because the place goes to hell without them. There's a real lore behind FIM now, isn't there? With star swirl etc. Yes, bioshock infinite is definitely what I'm reminded off watching this. I see too that unicorns can fly by telekinesis. Good to know.

Yeah, it turned out to be a bit darker than people thought. It was a good story though. I see now that twilight has become the teacher for starlight, so this will be interesting. She's got serious magical ability, what with the flying, shields, crystal trap and the time writing spell. And cutie mark tampering. I see too that unicorns can fly by telekinesis. Good to know. Unicorn race op, pls nerf. It's the potential they have you see. Because of magic, you can say that a unicorn has the potential to do anything.
